Today is THE day. You can now buy our debut album, THE SILVER LAKE CHORUS, featuring never-before-heard and rare tracks by the Flaming Lips, Justin Vernon (Bon Iver), Tegan and Sara, Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie), Ben Lee, & more!
Listen to music director Mikey Wells and soprano/arranger Heather Ogilvy chat with Take Two’s Alex Cohen. We’re huge fans of the show, and not to toot our own choral horns, but this interview is definitely worth a listen.
Check out The Wall Street Journal’s Arts and Entertainment Page to stream our entire album for FREE from now til Tuesday, June 16th (when you can officially download our album and listen whenever and wherever you want)!
We cannot wait to celebrate the release of our record and sing you sweet, sweet people some beautiful tunes off the new album. Join us on Saturday, June 13th at TSLC headquarters (1629 Griffith Park Blvd). Doors at 7:30p. Show at 8p. All ages. Donations encouraged. CDs available for cash purchase.
Check out our music video for “Hold Up For,” written for the chorus by Tegan and Sara and performed by the women of TSLC! Stereogum says, “It’s probably the cutest thing you’ll see all week. Heart-eyed emoji times three.” (That’s high-praise for something that doesn’t even include inter-species friendship!)
Check out Consequence of Sound today for their exclusive debut of TSLC’s HEAVY STAR MOVIN’ written by The Flaming Lips. Reviewer Michelle Geslani writes, “Not unlike something plucked from the Lips’ expansive repertoire, the hauntingly beautiful track evokes a surreal, out-of-body experience, as though one’s consciousness is tumbling aimlessly through a color-splashed alternate universe.”
We are thrilled to announce that our album officially comes out June 16th!!!!!!!!
TSLC spent a glorious Sunday at the abandoned church that we call home filming a music video for our debut album. We cannot wait to share the final product with you (and see it ourselves). In the meantime, check out some behind-the-scenes photos of the shoot – and keep your eyes/ears/hearts peeled for updates!
We’re recording the last song of our full-length debut album TONIGHT! This one was written by our very own Heather Ogilvy and Mikey Wells.
We are so excited to release our WRECKAGE EP, featuring “From the Snow-Tipped Hills,” written for the chorus by Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, and “Wreckage,” written for TSLC by A.C. Newman of The New Pornographers. Listen now on Soundcloud! Also available on iTunes and Amazon.
